The first ever Fall Campout Night at Weldon Springs Oct. 11 and 12 was a chance for kids and adults to learn new camping skills, share stories and enjoy a night under the stars. Many thanks to Sara Tremble and her friends for organizing the event and preparing all the meals for the group.

Master Naturalist Anton Meyen took campers on a hike to lean about nature and Weldon Springs State Park.

Master Naturalist Anton Meyen took campers on a hike to identify animal tracks.

Campers learned new skills, including the proper way to build a fire, the seven C's of camping and the basics of camping preparedness and safety.
The event was followed by a service project at the park on Sunday and was a great example of the Golden Rule of Camping.
